| Pros | Rides great, good breaks, shifts well, great price | | Cons | the brakes can be loud some times, a bit heavy | | Verdict | I have been road biking for some time and have done some mountain biking here and there but out of all the mountain bikes i have used, for the price this one is great | | Recommended for: Clydesdales |
| Pros | Strong frame, good brakes, shifts smoothly, great price for the quality. | | Cons | Little on the heavy side. | | Verdict | I have an '08. I have taken it on some very technical trails and done a little downhill. Even after a few bad spills the bike still keeps going. I'm very impressed by the quality of this bike for its price. |

| Pros | Strong Frame, Good Parts, Great gearing, brakes kick ass. nice cranks. | | Cons | A lil heavy but i still like it, chain gets a lil jumpy peddling in the turns.. | | Verdict | Bought this bike after reading ALL of the reviews, Sport Chalet had it on sale for $399. I'm 6'1, bought the 18 inch, feels really good, brakes are awesome, forks work great, havent bottomed them out, on some serious trails. Front tire kinda sux, it not to grippy, bike just feels really nice, WAY better than my Mongoose xr75 i bought at Wallmart! | | Recommended for: Clydesdales |
| Pros | Wicked strong frame, good frame geometry, great price | | Cons | Cheap components, no adjustment on fork shock | | Verdict | Great price for a bike that can be upgraded with better components later, as they break. ram is on point and thats what matters, wicked looks and geometry, superstrong bike that will get yo otthere and back! |
| Pros | Wicked-strong frame, price, looks good stock! | | Cons | HEAVY, cheap components, mechanical brakes, no REAL damping adjustments on stock shock. | | Verdict | This is a great starter bike for anyone who wants a super-STRONG frame and bike that if upgraded in the right places can and will handle anything you throw at it. I have upgraded just about all of the weak points on this bike and could not be happier!!! This frame kicks some serious freeride, AM, and with the right componenets, some DH A$$!!! |

| Pros | Frame, geometry | | Cons | pedals, thing is a TANK | | Verdict | had this bike for over a year now, basically its a great bike. its one you can put anyone on and have a good time, a little on the heavy side but a good trade off for being so indestructible. slowly start upgrading components as they break and you will have a great bike. | | Recommended for: Anyone |
| Pros | Value/Price, Reliability | | Cons | Weight, Pedals | | Verdict | I've had this bike for coming up on six years! It still works great and I frequently lend it to friends that don't have a bike. This is the bike that got me into this sport, and I've never had any major issues with it. Great value for the price; the perfect beginners bike. | | Recommended for: First-time buyers |

| Pros | Burly frame,Geometry, great overall "bang for your buck". | | Cons | Brakes-Hayes HMX4's, Forks-Spinner Edge AL-1 (120mm), plastic pedals. | | Verdict | I am a bike tech at a local shop that sells DB's so I have been around these bikes for 3 years now, and overall I rate this ride as a "best bang for your buck" bike!(I went with the 2009 model.) You'll probably want to upgrade components as you break/wear them out. I rode a trail recently that had lots of loose/large rocks and couldn't seem to get the front fork to give enough on the downhill - for my liking anyway...but, it climbed like a goat! Chain slap was annoying too so I would recommend a sleeve for your stays(and watch your tire pressure, I lowered mine and had an easier traverse over the bumpy stuff). Overall, I really like this bike, great for singletrack/XC type riding... Would buy it again! | | Recommended for: Recreational riders |

| Pros | It's a hardtail. great setup for my short ass.(5'7"). Corners/maneuvers great. price is rite. | | Cons | Derailleurs are crap. kinda heavy. plastic pedal. Some 2" or so of travel in the peddlin. Change the rim. | | Verdict | Overall a good frame. Components are crap. Change the rim. | | Recommended for: First-time buyers |

| Pros | Frame, brakes, handling | | Cons | Pedals, but haven't replaced them yet | | Verdict | Bought new in 2008 and have ridden the bike really hard. Really like the bike, but will probably upgrade for a full suspension next year. I'm really hooked on mountain biking!!!! | | Recommended for: Anyone |

| Pros | Geometry of bike, heavy duty frame, disk brakes, components work good, seat comfortable, high speed stability going down hill. | | Cons | pedals replaced at the store, weight of bike, | | Verdict | Bought mine new in 2006 have rode the crap out of it with no problems or failures. Bike is very stable on backcountry roads at high speeds shock is adequate for down hill fire roads. I would recomend to anyone who wants a tough bike that can take abuse. Longest ride to date was 26 miles with ups downs pavement and dirt. It should be noted I am heavy at 225 and have used up a bike or two. | | Recommended for: Anyone |

| Pros | I liked the way the frame was formed for 3D rigidity since I like to stand up and peddle periodically. | | Cons | Peddles, front shifter, brakes occasionally require loosening to stop dragging, Tires are so-so | | Verdict | I recommend this bike for anyone that will ride enough to wear out the components and upgrade as you go along. I plan to ride the crap out of it and do just that. I like the way it climbs and use a handfull of brakes without concern for wear because upgrade replacement parts are not a problem. | | Recommended for: Value seekers |
| Pros | Best "Bang for the buck!", solid frame | | Cons | weight, pedals&front derailleur | | Verdict | Most of the previous reviews are spot on. This bike has a strong but heavy frame that held up to the terain and my fat ass. I had this bike for 7 months now and the only componants I had issues with are the pedals and the front derailleur. | | Recommended for: Value seekers |
| Pros | frame, tires, brakes | | Cons | pedals, gears | | Verdict | I've been riding this bike for six months. I had to replace a broken dereilleur of a jump, but other than tht its been solid. I would suggest a quick upgrade from the plastic, slick tires to more gripping medal ones. | | Recommended for: First-time buyers |
| Pros | The grip on the road and trails makes this a multi-purpose bike. This is a great bike for a beginner, advanced rider, or someone who wants to have a good ride at a good price. Some "expert" riders told me I would need to replace some things on the bike, but I have had it for a while and it works great. | | Cons | Shocks and gears | | Verdict | anyone |

| Pros | The frame is great, the price is better. | | Cons | Some small gear issues, but were easily fixed. | | Verdict | I have had no real problems with the bike and I would recommend it for someone who wants to ride seriously, but doesn't have a few grand to shell out. Good overall bike. | | Recommended for: First-time buyers |

| Pros | The frame is nice and burly | | Cons | Everything but the frame | | Verdict | I bought this bike and replaced everything on it. The only factory component on this bike are the brake calipers. Once I did that I found it to be a great bike and would recommend it. | | Recommended for: Value seekers |
