| Pros | Extremely fast rolling tires;
Exceptional grip on loamy, damp trails;
Claw-like traction over roots & rocks, especially slickrock (Moab);
Massively durable and very long tread life, even without the ProTection option;
Round tread profile, will not slide out without warning unlike square-tread tires. | | Cons | These tires do not like mud, and pack up very easily.
They are also not recommended for dry sandy/gravel trails common to the midwest.
High-speed cornering grip isn't the best, but once a rider is used to them, they will drift very nicely. | | Verdict | I highly recommend these tires for riders who commonly ride trails that aren't often turned into bogs by frequent rains. Sharp rocks & abundant roots will not faze these tires, and I run them at lower pressures than I would normally for other tires. Railing berms at high speeds are a blast with these tires, but high-speed off-camber corners can be a little scary unless the rider is experienced with these tires. | | Recommended for: Experienced XC riders | |
