Pros
Run the magnesium versions on the back of my steelhardtail. When paired with a strong disc brake for front end braking makes a very strong combo.
Cons
Bad in the wet use koolstop salmon pads to regain great traction even in the wet.
Review
Cheap and easy to use. Setup is crucial for quiet braking.
Pros
Cheap compared to discs, quiet once I got them adjusted, flawless braking except in the worst conditions
Cons
Adjustment was tricky
Review
I ended up using an old canti brake trick to get them adjusted - I coated all the washers, spacers threads and pads in beeswax. The was helps everything slide against each other more smoothly while moving stuff around, then holds all the bits in place while you tighten it down (plus I like the smell). I am on my 3rd set of pads on these and they are not going to be taken off even though I have a set of Avid BB7's in my parts bin doing nothing.
Pros
They came off the bike easy, fit well in spare parts drawer
Cons
Was like canti's hard to adjust well, pads super hard wet ride sucked
