You know you want one! Find great deals on helmet cameras and show off your rad moves to your singletrack buddies.
Mountain bike movies
Browse gnarly mountain bike movies like The Collective and the Disorder series or choose from one of many bike training videos and DVDs. Stroll down memory lane with some classic cycling-themed movies like American Flyers or Breaking Away.
Tip #1: Add background music. While the sound of you huffing and puffing up the trail definitely makes the video more realistic, we could probably do without hearing you wheeze. Ditto for the sound of the wind as you whip your bike down the trail. Pick music that fits the trail (up-tempo songs for bombing descents, soft rock for slow scenic rides).
Tip #2: Change your perspective. Try taking some footage of riders coming down the trail in addition to your first-person helmet camera shots. We've even seen some great mountain bike videos shot from the rear of a bike - just make sure someone is following you so they can be in the shot!
Tip #3: Splice in some photos. Use your high-res digital camera to take some good scenery shots to place in your video. With a nice Ken Burns effect your mountain bike video will be looking professional in no time!
Tip #4: Narrate your video. Tell people why you love to ride this mountain bike trail and where the tough spots are. First person accounts make the trail more real and personal for your viewers.
