Awesome! I'm considering a MTB for my 8 (soon to be 9) yo son, was wondering if he'd be able to do it or not....after all, the trail we ride is tough on us! But I think we'll go ahead and pull the trigger on a new one for his birthday in Nov, we'd love to all go together. He rides with us on a fire road and does OK, but a new ride would help-his BMX Mongoose is heavier than MY bike is and he doesn't have the bennefit of gears! Thanks for posting the pics, families that play together stay together!

Pull the trigger, that would be a great move my friend. The Specialized Hotrocks are just awesome, but Trek, Fisher and a few others also have a great line as well. Good luck!

Scott also has some nice, albeit pricey, kids' bikes.

My philosophy is to go used on the kids' bikes, as they grow out of them so fast.
