I was wondering if someone could help me with some bike build questions? I am looking to build my first XC MTB with a budget of $800 & was wondering if I can even build something trail worthy with kind of budget? I currently ride a HT bike but would like to switch over to full suspension. Could anyone give me some ideas of a cheap but solid frame. I would like to go new on the frame but not sure if I can pull that off with my budget. Also what direction should I go with the components? Would it be worth yanking parts off my HT or should I just buy a build kit? I currently own a Hardrock sport with Scram X4 components, SR Suntour crank you know all the non fancy entry level stuff. I dont mind going a little cheaper on components cause I can always buy better stuff down the road. So if theres anyone with some ideas or builds they have done in the past please let me know. Thank alot |

Did you consider purchasing a complete bike? It would be cheaper in the long run...
If you sell off your exisiting bike you can also use the proceeds for your new one...If you have $800 and say sell off your present bike say for $300- 400 dollars you now have about $1100 - $1200 dollars for a FS bike..Which now is a good purchasing start...To further maximize your dollar consider purchasing last years model..At this time of year they are at a discount.
Cheers hope this helps _________________ No applause please!! Just Money..Thank you.. |
