Wow! That sounds really cool Steve, especially during your winters out their in CO. I have heard of indoor pump tracks but not indoor MTB'ing. Modern marvels cease to amaze me!! Dude, you got to let me know what it is like or send some pics. _________________

| Ray's MTB (http://www.raysmtb.com/) in Cleveland has been doing this for quite a while. Glad to know I won't have to goto Cleveland to ride an indoor MTB park. |

Looks like the opening date is Dec. 1st. and the permits were finally approved so they can start building the velodrome.There will be a grand opening party Nov. 30th. for all future customers to go and see the new place.Let me know if anyone wants to go as a singletracks group. _________________ quick,,,ride across the rainbow,before it turns to black.

I had this exchange with the guys at Boulder Indoor Cycling:
Hello;
What is your time line to open the MTB section of your "park"?

Just blogged it. The velodrome is open and the MTB circuit is still "coming soon." There's a map of the proposed course online:
Proposed MTB circuit layout. Blue and green courses are for beginning riders; yellow is intermediate; red is advanced. _________________ SINGLETRACKS.COM || Bike the net |

I just finished riding this place today. If you have never ridden "North Shore" styled obstacles, it would be a great treat. On a 5 star scale I would give it two. There are three skills to be learned here. Riding ladder bridges, riding teeters and riding pump track.
The pump track is short but well built. If you ride it correctly, you won't have to pedal up to the platform where you drop-in to all of the lines.
The teeters are all sturdy and move at very simple to ride rate. You'd have to hit these puppies with quite a bit of speed to launch and none of them fall far enough to really make you lose your bearings. If you have never ridden teeters before, this is the place to be. They have one super cool teeter. It's a teeter on top of a teeter.
There are two skinnys in the whole place. Anything 6 inches or greater wide is not a skinny. One is on the ground in the "collecting pool." The other is a 4x4 following the super cool teeter. The ladder bridges are all wide enough to allow for a several big bar wiggles (I tested this, but not on purpose). Keeping track of your rear wheel isn't that critical either.
If you are experienced riding these types of obstacles, you'll have more fun trying to ride these bottom to top. Real experts will enjoy creating new lines by side hopping from one line to the other. For me, and my irrational fear of ladder bridges, it tested the ticker a few times, but never the skills.
If North Shore style riding is nothing new to you, I'd say your best bet is to make this a stop on the way to or from another trail. Perhaps as a pre-drinking activity to getting beers in Boulder.
