| I've been riding trails around Williamsburg, VA for several years, but have not ridden any trails in Richmond or further west but am planning on doing so. Can anybody give me a good comparison of trails around Williamsburg (Freedom Park, York River State Park, New Quarter Park) with Buttermilk, Walnut Creek, and Douthat? Since one person's "advanced" is somebody else's "good for beginners," I'm looking for comparisons of difficulty level from people who have ridden some or all of these trails. Thanks. |

Hey Pololu. Welcome to Singletracks. Unfortunately, I haven't ridden Freedom Park yet, but it is definitely on my list. I've been hearing great things about it. Douthat is on my list too, but I'm hitting Carvins Cove in Roanoke next, so Douthat may have to wait for 2010.
I have ridden Walnut Creek (once) and Buttermilk here in Richmond, but I can't provide the comparison you are looking for. You might dig around on http://cyclingcentralva.org/forums/ to see if someone there can help you out. Make sure you come back to ST though. This site rocks. |

Wish I could help you our Pololu, but most of my riding has been in western VA. I have yet to hit up the Williamsburg & Yorktown area trails. _________________ CraigCreekRider
