New trail maps

posted October 8, 2007 by trek7k

We’ve been quietly updating the mountain bike trail maps on singletracks over the past several weeks and we’re finally done with all 345 maps. The new map format is more consistent and gives you  topographic data plus waypoints, roads, lakes, streams, parks, and more. For those of you who know your maps this is a big upgrade from the USGS topo maps which can often be difficult to read at certain scales. Thanks to everyone who gave us feedback during the planning process and especially to JJonas for helping us sort out many of the technical details.

We also cleaned up the trail map catalog during the update and even added some new features like Garmin Edge downloads and improved multi-track handling.  Plus there’s even more to come - GPS data analysis and how-to’s, for example - so stay tuned this fall!

Here’s a sample of one of the new maps - plus we’ve added even more free maps!
