Cinema Sunday: “Projekt Roam: Virgin, Utah”

It seems nearly impossible to attempt to capture the essence of the riding terrain found in Virgin, UT with mere words. Little forgiveness is to be found in this harsh landscape; there is a reason this site calls to extreme mountain bikers from all around the world.

So instead of using mere words, Projekt Roam decided to “capture the essence” of Virgin, UT in this excellent three minutes and 34 seconds of video set to the sounds of Rage Against the Machine’s “Guerilla Radio”:

Projekt Roam was founded by husband and wife, Colt and Jessee Maule in 2010. It has been their mission to travel North America in search of places that celebrate the unparalleled beauty and freedom of not only the bike, but the terrain we ride as well.

My name is Greg Heil, and I'm currently based in the Appalachian Mountains of Georgia. I've been mountain biking seriously since 2005, and I love to travel and ride new trails. My travels have taken me across the United States multiple times. To date (March 2013), I have ridden hundreds of different trails in 17 different states, and am adding more singletrack to my trail resume every year! I enjoy all types of mountain biking, from ultra endurance cross country all the way up to chair lift-accessed downhill runs. In addition to blogging, I am Singletracks.com's Social Media Coordinator.

  1. If only this video were 10 minutes longer. Mountain biking in the mid-west and west coast seems to be a different animal than than the mountain biking over here in New York.
