For 11 years, mountain bikers from all over the world have been coming to Oakridge, OR as part of Mountain Bike Oregon, a 3-day “mountain biker’s dream vacation.” Both 300-rider summer sessions routinely sell out, which just goes to show what a great event Mountain Bike Oregon has become! Now, Mountain Bike Oregon promoter and Oregon Adventures owner Randy Dreiling has launched a Kickstarter campaign to secure a permanent location to host mountain bikers in Oakridge.

Randy tells me the $45,000 campaign goal will be used to “buy the land, get power, improve water and add extra outlets, add solar showers, and do some road repairs.” The riverfront site consists of 8 acres and judging by the photos, it’s an idyllic location for kicking back after a long day of riding.

If the land is acquired, this will be the new location for Mountain Bike Oregon events for years to come, and the planned improvements should make the event even better than ever (if that’s possible). Rewards for backers include free camping stays, shuttle rides, and yurt accommodations. Plus, unlike some of the product-centric bike-related Kickstarter campaigns we’ve seen, this land will be around for mountain bikers to enjoy for many years.
