Spring Is Here! (Last Week’s Mountain Bike PODs)

Spring is in full swing across the nation, and photo submissions to the Singletracks.com database are definitely picking up! Keep ‘em coming guys!

That means that if you’re interested in getting your photo featured as a POD, it will need to have a little something extra. Things that can help your photo get featured are:

  • An interesting angle or perspective on the trail, the rider, or the sport. This can be a literal angle or a figurative angle. Anyone can shoot a photo of some guy on a mountain bike, but can you do it in a unique way that’s never been done (or rarely been done) before? That is the question, and it will really make your photo stand out above the rest.
  • Straight-up gutsy riding. If the subject of your photo is absolutely killing it, it’s probably going to be a winner!
  • Sheer beauty. If you shoot photos in a very scenic area, you’re already one step up on the competition.

For inspiration, check out the photos below. They all have that little something that sets them above the rest:

About mtbgreg1

My name is Greg Heil, and I am the Editor in Chief for Singletracks.com. I've been mountain biking seriously since 2005, and I love to travel and ride new trails. My travels have taken me across the United States multiple times. To date (March 2013), I have ridden hundreds of different trails in 17 different states, and am adding more singletrack to my trail resume every year! I enjoy all types of mountain biking, from ultra endurance cross country all the way up to chair lift-accessed downhill runs.
