About mtbgreg1

My name is Greg Heil, and I'm currently based in the Appalachian Mountains of Georgia. I've been mountain biking seriously since 2005, and I love to travel and ride new trails. My travels have taken me across the United States multiple times. To date (March 2013), I have ridden hundreds of different trails in 17 different states, and am adding more singletrack to my trail resume every year! I enjoy all types of mountain biking, from ultra endurance cross country all the way up to chair lift-accessed downhill runs. In addition to blogging, I am Singletracks.com's Social Media Coordinator.

  1. I think, a PoD – is a picture (with mountain bike and rider preferably) that motivates viewers to get outside and give their own bikes a ride… ;)

  2. Well, mtbgreg1, I enjoy seeing scenic views (and taking pictures) in a remote locations and the most comfortable way to get there is by bike. Yeah, there’re still many trails I’d like to ride which are closed for bikes (Appalachian Trail, Continental Divide etc.) But most of singletracks doesn’t provide those spectacular views and I still like to ride there because of feel of speed, control, action, challenge and pure adrenaline instead of my blood. A satisfaction after clearing that obstacle I couldn’t go through for a weeks makes me smile and go there again and again.
And, of coarse, when there is a beautiful day out why should I stay inside and waist it on the sofa??? :)

  3. I was thinking of maybe throw in a few grom action shots from time to time as well. Nothing like watching the groms shredding, but I also understand. They are our future ya know…LOL.

  4. Awesome! Will do when I get the time. I had some, but not sure if they are still up. I know I have one of my son shredding a 12′ drop w/10′ gap, but I do not want to boast my sons skills…LOL. Thanks mtgreg1!

  5. Oh wow, I missed them, but I was in the hospital for the first half of December (two weeks), so thus why I missed them. Great shots of the groms I must say. Great to see our next generation with the love & passion for riding. Thank you mtbgreg1. I upload some soon.
