Mammoth Bike Park in California is scheduled to open for the 2014 season on May 24th, in time for Memorial Day. With over 80 miles of trail at Mammoth (the amount to be opened on the 24th is dependent on weather conditions), this is one of the premiere downhill resorts in the nation!
This year, Mammoth will be opening a new pump track near Discover Chair (Chair 11). “The closed loop of rollers and berms is designed to be ridden without pedaling. Instead, riders use their body weight, pushing down after cresting a roller, and in the process converting gravity into speed. The pump track is in addition to the Pioneer Practice Loop and the Skills Park, all part of the arc of progression at the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park,” according to Mammoth.
