So this is pretty exciting: someone on singletracks is going to win a Contour HD Helmet Camera from VholdR at the end of the month. Take a moment to wipe the drool off your keyboard and keep reading…

Starting today we’ll be awarding points to members for linking MTB trail videos on VholdR.com to singletracks trail pages. We’ve set up a contest page showing the current standings where you can also read the rules and find out more.

If you’re not familiar with VholdR.com, it’s a video site with thousands of action sports videos posted by VholdR camera owners. The site is super slick and includes location data, comment features, and cool community features. Even if you don’t own a Contour HD (yet) you can still join and watch sweet vids.

Questions? Post ‘em here in the comments. Let the search for VholdR trail videos begin!

  1. You can upload videos to VholdR if you like but that’s not necessary. We’re just asking you to LINK trail videos you find on VholdR to trail listings on singletracks.com. We’ll know about it when you submit the link :)

  2. raywatcher, you seem very thorough – we like that :)

Videos can be high or regular def.

In terms of content, the video has to be shot at the trail you’re linking to. No official length requirement but note the rules say videos are “subject to approval.” If we feel like anyone is “gaming” the rules to inflate submission counts those submissions will definitely be thrown out.

  3. I have linked videos. Am I doing it right and going in the right direction? or just wasting time and completely off base? Thanks (and I love your site!)

  4. For those who haven’t linked videos before, all videos undergo a review process before they’re posted. Keep checking the contribution list on your profile page to see when your videos have been approved.

  5. I’m going to go ahead and apologize in advance for submitting a few duplicates. VholdR’s website is not nearly as well organized as Singletracks!

  6. I agree with Maddslacker. It is hard to know if you have the right trail and then remember if you have already submitted the link for it.
