Vittoria had two exciting new products for plus bikes at Sea Otter this year: the Cannoli and Deamion-Plus. The Cannoli tire will be offered in both 27.5 and 29er sizes (3.0″ wide) and also as a 4.8″ fat bike tire for 26″ wheels. The tread sports a paddle design that’s said to do a good job shedding mud and snow–perfect for loose to wet conditions!

Vittoria also showed off their new 27.5+ wheelset, the Deamion-Plus. With an internal rim width of 40mm, this all-mountain-capable wheelset is tubeless ready and Boost spaced. With plus rims it’s important not to go too wide because the tires end up with more of a squarish, flattish profile. Too narrow and the tire is unstable. The Deamion-Plus rims appear to strike a nice balance, giving the tires a nice profile that appears ready to slash berms!

The company showed the new tires and wheels installed on a Zanconato plus bike, in case you missed it in our round up of new plus bikes.

While at the Vittoria booth we also talked to Selle Italia saddles (same parent company) and I got myself measured using the company’s “ID Match” saddle selection system. They basically take a few body measurements and the computer spits out a recommended saddle based on your anatomy. And guess what? My recommended saddle matches the one I’ve been using (and loving) for years: the Selle Italia SLR. So based on a data point of one (me), I’d say ID Match is 100% accurate. 🙂

Seriously though, if you still haven’t found the right saddle, see if your dealer has an ID Match system. It’s worth a shot!
