If I never take them off the rim, no problem, can run till slick. Am going to see if Specialized wants to take a look at it, as I am not a tire engineer.
But back on original topic, it is amazing what they can do with rubber compounds, and casings now days. Trying different tires is a good idea, even if you find a tire that works perfect for you, next year a new tire may come out that works even better.

That's strange, I've never heard of anyone having issues with the 2bliss tires used with Stans. I know I haven't, and some of mine have been in use for over a year straight...

@ dgaddis (Specialized 2Bliss) Apparently the Stans is causing the internal cording to breakdown, or soften. Had time so was working with the tire trying to figure exactly what it was doing. Was being careful, using a hand pump.
Will never again install a tire without earplugs. Some things I just have to learn the hard way. At least I can honestly say; I can't hear you.

Road Warrior - use tubeless ready tires. And why in the world are you using 45 psi!! That's waaaay too much. Few people need more than 30psi...

Ok so the ladies are not carrying spare tires, but there are four, so who needs spares.
Just blew out both my ear drums last week when a tire from a well known manufacturer blew off the rim at 45 PSI. Second time this has happened ( first time for the ears). Am now looking for a tire that won't go all screwy after 6 mo. with Stans in them. Time to start experimenting again

Another idea is to interrogate the riders at the LBS, either for your area or if you're traveling somewhere. They'll have advice based on what they themselves ride, as well as what sells the most in the area. (and those may not be the same thing)

Also, the way you ride can be a plus or minus for tires.

The only problem I see with trying various tires is if you're set up to run tubeless. A pain in the butt to swap and test. You could run tubes, but i've found that tires ride differently with tubes and tubeless, liking a tire one way but not the other.
