Well DH bikes are not really meant to pedal...YOU can if you want tune the suspension to absorb more LSC which takes away some of the pedal bob...Compared to a hardtail, yes they are not as pedaly, but more than make it up in control.

hey i loved reading this review! i just had a few questions about the v10 if ANYONE could answer them, is this a "pedaly" downhill bike? and im have experince with DH but the only bike i have is a hardtail and was wondering if going from a hardtail to a v10 was an okay suspension jump

Hi there Rossw. I am 5'9". Fit is great I tend to run my bike with the shortest stem available or with those stems that have a choice, I run it at the shortest setting. At my height I am set perfectly middle with my chin just over the stem in riding position. Bars are usually 780mm to 800mm (depending on what I am reviewing). Cranks are 165mm..(Yes GXP 83). And stem reach is 45 - 50mm

Hi, great review. I am thinking of getting one and was wondering about size? How tall are you and how was the fit of the medium? Also, what x0 crank fits the frame, is it the GXP83mm option?

Cheers

Thanks for the quick reply!

When I mentioned full travel I was wondering whether the spacers increase the leverage rate to such a point that it's impossible to generate enough force to push the shock through all of the travel, as opposed to it physically altering the available amount.

Not much sag either I see - I run a bit more than 30% on mine having experimented from 40%.

Hi Bing0. Good question. Those foam spacer reduce volume and don't effect travel just rate. I have no issues with it a prefer the rise in rate. I get a plush beginning to mid travel rate then it ramps up near the end. Gives a bottomless feel to it. I also run 25-30% sag.

Interesting to hear you used spacers in the DBAir. Did you still manage to get full travel? I heard reports of others running no spacers and the shock was still too progressive to get through the travel.

How much sag does the 190psi get you?

To be Honest...Enve 26 DH wheels come in at the same weight as the Havoc's...Just stronger and 3X the money.. The Hans Dampf are an AM tire. Which might be OK but to be safe I stick with a gravity oriented tire.

Have you considered some ENVE 26 DH wheels? That could drop the weight another pound potentially! And some lightweight DH tires like the Schwalb Hans Dampf could work well?

I managed to get the bike to 32.9lbs...If I had a chance at getting the SixC cranks from Raceface I could have dropped it even more.

If I were to buy a DH rig, I think this would be the one. :)

So what was the lowest weight you were able to achieve?
