Rocky Mountain is jumping on a wheel/tire size bandwagon that Trek pioneered with the launch of the Farley Fat Bike back in 2015: 27.5 fat. While it may be a very small bandwagon, Rocky is launching two new fat bikes with the new wheel size: The Suzi Q -90° RSL and the Suzi Q -50°.
The new Suzi Q shatters the constant “narrative of slow, plodding fat bikes,” says Rocky Mountain. Instead, this is a race-oriented machine. The -90° RSL features a full carbon frame and fork, XTR drivetrain and brakes, and a sleek, aero design built for top speed. The -50° is a step down with an XT drivetrain and SLX brakes, and an alloy frame and carbon fork.
Rocky says that the Suzi Q is designed for “Fat XC,” and with shortened chainstays, a narrower Q Factor than standard fat bikes, and a stretched out top tube, the geo should live up to that claim.
Tires on both models are Maxxis Minion FBF 2.75″x3.8″
