Rounding out my West Coast-style Dakine kit is the Concept glove.
This minimalistic glove is by far the sleekest I have used to date. The glove features a lightweight, moisture-wicking, 4-way stretch, nylon mesh back panel mated to a vented silicon mesh palm. There’s no strap, but the snug fit keeps the glove in place.

I have reviewed many gloves in the past and I have found that, lately, I have favored a minimalistic design. The Concept in particular has everything I could want, and none of the things that I don’t.
I used to be one of those riders who would armor up using full carbon fingers, 3DO, and all sorts of padding. However, I have found that all of that extra padding limits my movement and dulls the feel of the handlebar.
On the flip side, I found that a minimalistic glove, such as the Concept, combined with a decent bar and grip provides all the grip I need, without the unwanted squish and movement I don’t want. That in turn allows me to loosen my grip a bit and not get so fatigued.
Obviously, while the Concept’s material is enough to protect from some abrasion, it isn’t enough to protect from major impacts (such as a tree trunk). That said, I still love these gloves!
