GoPro Helmet Cam: Rad

posted September 26, 2007 by trek7k

The GoPro Helmet Hero looks like a sweet choice for all your helmet cam needs. The Hero can record almost an hour of footage on a single 2Gb SD memory card with TV quality video and sound. The polycarbonate camera housing (included) is versatile enough to mount to your helmet, bike, wrist, etc. and it’s even water proof!

I saw some demo videos at the GoPro booth and this camera is pretty impressive for its size. The picture was amazingly stable when mounted to the back of a mountain bike and the color quality is decent (through certainly not great). The camera itself can take still shots at 3 megapixels and the control are simple enough that you can operate them with your gloved hand.

At $169.99 retail the GoPro seems to be a good value and appears to be light and durable.
