The Singletracks National Mountainbike Gathering
I am excited to announce this event as the start of a yearly tradition for our small community at Singletracks!
If anyone here might plan on attending our Gathering, please stop by the Forum Announcement and read up about the event.
~ To start off the event on Thursday, Sept. 4th, we’ll have an initial day of setting up camp/lodging; followed by a Meet-&-Greet; name entry for the raffle, and ending with an evening/night group ride.
~Â Friday after breakfast, we will conduct a Mountainbike Maintenance & Skills Clinic. Individual & group rides are on tap following the learning-time for the rest of the day, and ending with a tasty cookout.
~ On Saturday the main events will be races & competitions for all ages & skill levels. Nothing cutthroat, just friendly hammer-fests & timed bicycle repair tasks. :thumbsup:
If no one wants to race, we’ll just continue on with the easy-riding until noon. After lunch, we’ll conduct the raffle; award race & contest trophies; and pass out free “Singletracks National Mountainbike Gathering – 2008″ t-shirts for everyone that attends.Â
The last day of the Gathering is Sunday, Sept. 6th. Sign-out time is 12pm, so take time in the morning with family or other riders to head into town for some shopping; visit the nearby Haviland & Electra Lakes; or just chill out around the campsite before packing up your camping gear. After clearing the campground, as a group we’ll stop into a local eatery for lunch; and there we will announce the raffle winners, present race trophies, and enjoy the company before heading home.
Now…. I understand that we all work and have bills; but if even ten people show up, I’ll consider it a success. I’ll be thrilled to get together with our mountainbiking brothers & sisters at a mountainbiking haven for a weekend’s worth of quality memories and new friends.
I have also created a web-flyer for the Gathering, feel free to post it on other websites that may have lurking mountainbikers who would be interested. Also available is a printer-friendly version for distribution at LBS’s, grocery stores, libraries, etc. Those wishing to obtain a copy of the print-flyer, PM or email me, and I’ll upload the JPG file.
The photo which I used for this flyer was graciously provided by an associate of mine from DeviantArt, Bryce Pratt. He is also an avid mountainbiker (and Singlespeed’er, which makes his motives partially suspect. :skep: 
), and skilled photographer. I encourage everyone here to check out his gallery and website, which contains some seriously skilled photos.
BTW, if anyone here wants to submit a design for the Gathering t-shirt, feel free to either email me, or post up ideas in the Singletracks.com forum.
