Watch out Sea Otter and Crankworx–the Outlier Offroad festival is working to create the largest mountain bike event in North America. This is the first year for the Outlier Offroad festival and an impressive array of brands will be in Vail September 26-27 for the event.
The festival will include an expo, bike demos serviced by two lifts, plus major enduro and cross-country races. The organizers claim this event signals future MTB investment from Vail which is certainly welcome news.
Attending brands this year include Scott Bikes, Ibis, Santa Cruz, Niner, SRAM, Ellsworth, Pivot, Trek, Intense, and Rocky Mountain.
With plenty of family-friendly activities and lodging available, there should be something for everyone, though I’ll stop short of calling the event budget-friendly for attendees (brands, on the other hand, will pay much less than they do for other events like Interbike).
