Great Divide Mountain Bike Route Turns 10

posted February 15, 2008 by trek7k

This is the 10th anniversary of the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR) and there is plenty happening to mark the occasion. Adventure Cycling is offering its first ever guided ride of the entire route from June 15 - Sept 5 (that’s 82 days for those keeping track). I hope you’ve been saving your vacation time at work ;)

In addition to the guided ride there are two races taking place on the GDMBR this summer plus there’s an updated guidebook to the route. Interesting fact: last year’s winner of the GDMBR race rode the 2,711 miles in just 15 days. Wow.

Speaking of 10-year anniversaries, singletracks.com is celebrating its own entry into the decade club this spring. As such we have a ton of cool stuff coming this year including the first ever singletracks shindig happening in Durango, CO Sept. 5-7. And if you’re planning on getting us a present, we could use a Titus Racer X, a new camera lens, and a Garmin Edge 705 ;)
