Cinema Sunday: “Where the Trail Ends” – Official Trailer

The official trailer for the upcoming freeride move, “Where the Trail Ends,” is finally live. Red Bull has this to say about it:

The film features the most progressive and ambitious mountain biking ever attempted in an adventure unlike anything experienced before in breath-taking locations all over the world.

Most progressive and most ambitious ever? Well, check out the trailer (and grab the full-length movie when it comes out), and decide for yourself:

My name is Greg Heil, and I am the Editor in Chief for Singletracks.com. I've been mountain biking seriously since 2005, and I love to travel and ride new trails. My travels have taken me across the United States multiple times. To date (March 2013), I have ridden hundreds of different trails in 17 different states, and am adding more singletrack to my trail resume every year! I enjoy all types of mountain biking, from ultra endurance cross country all the way up to chair lift-accessed downhill runs.

  1. Agreed!

    Is it just me, or does it seem like every single one of these guys ends up breaking or coming close to breaking their necks? Doing that seems to be the rare exception rather than the norm among the elite skiers, kayakers, surfers, etc. who make similar films. Call me a crotchety old man, but this stuff just seems reckless. So, I guess more power to you if you’re going to risk a compound fracture in Mustang, I’ll still tune in to watch you from the comfort of my living room…

  2. Yeah, I cannot wait, but I agree I am glad I am able to watch this from my living room with a choice homebrew after picking through tamer XC front range trails on my Niner.

  3. I agree with all of the above comments: these guys are nutty and risk serious injury. But I think the insanity of what they do is what makes some of these freeride movies worth watching: we can stare in awe with out jaws hanging open at what these guys are capable of on a mountain bike.

    If every movie that we watched was of regular guys riding regular trails, and at every turn we muttered to ourselves, “I can do that,” would the movie REALLY be worth watching?

    At least, that’s my take on it!

    You’re a crotchety old man! :D
    But I agree.

    @Greg
    Good points. If we watched movies of stuff the average person does, they’d be pretty boring.
