From my experience almost no dry lube will last that long, especially in any kind of moisture. I also use pedro’s ice wax and like it. Just throw a bottle in your camelback and give the chain a squirt if it needs it. If that isn’t an option use pedro’s mtb syn lube. It’ll last 20 miles. Since it is a wet lube it tends to attract dust and needs frequent cleaning (every ride, but I am also anal about a clean bike).

And I agree with bonked, white lightning sucks.

Horizon is good trail. Kind of a mini turkey mtn.

Anyway. I assume you presta valves? If so buy the Slime brand tubes that are already slime filled. That will solve the problem. They will be heavier than your regular tubes, if that is a concern.

If your tubes have schrader valves just go buy a bottle of slime and pull the stem and the correct amount.

Also, if you are pinch flatting add more air to the tires.

I second what sandm96 has to say. Save your money and get a decent bike. I have an older cannondale f2000 i would consider getting rid of. Let me know if your interested.

A guy at a bike shop told me cateye makes a great light. I don’t remember the model but it had several LED’s and was very bright.

I can’t believe that many people are riding softies. Maybe I’m too old fashioned with my hardtail. I have a klein and absolutely love it. I’ve ridden a full suspension and liked the ride but I couldn’t climb as well. Maybe the weight??

Thanks for the advice. I was wondering if was something like a bad chain or bent teeth.

Also, does anyone know the measurement to tell if a chain is stretched to much. I though it was anything over 12″ from two pin centers. Does that sound right?

Not sure what you are talking about. I know Ringle made a part called the “anti chainsuck thing” that bolted between the chain stays and deflected the chain when it sucked. I just put some zip ties on it and will hopefully get to ride this weekend and try it out.

Chainsuck is when the chain wraps around a chain ring (from the bottom side) and gets stuck between your chainstay and chain ring. Depending upon how bad it is you have to stop and pull the chain out. It tears up your frame also.

I used to race when I was younger so I have the riding thing down fine.

It occurs when I shift from the middle ring to granny, and only when I shift.

Not sure on the terrain part. I would say it happens more often on rough terrain but still happens on smooth.

The crank is brand new, with rings and only about 250 miles on it. The old crank was some Bontrager junk that came on it from the factory. I was getting chainsuck with it also. The chain had maybe 200 miles on it when I put the new crank on. The bike only has about 450 miles on it.
