I have recently discovered that I have a snapped the bridge on my 2012 29’er Rock Shox Reba RL.   Conveniently, it happened after the 2 year warranty had expired.   I have no idea how/when/where it occurred.  I definitely did not take any major falls where I felt like it could have been damaged…The only “fall” I recall prior to the accident was one where my front wheel slipped of the edge of a skinny dropping my front wheel maybe 6 inches & sending me over the bar.    It was only discovered when I was at the LBS & told them,  “It feels like my headset is loose.   Can you check it out?”

I am curious to know if anyone else has encountered this problem, and does anyone feel like I do in that the shock was defective ?

Wow, snapping the bridge on a fork is pretty major. It does seem like you would remember a crash like that!

Since it is so far out of warranty, you likely won’t have much luck getting it replaced, at least for free. You can buy new lowers, but it may just make sense to get a whole new fork. Bummer.

Plus the idea of combining new lowers with 3+ years of where uppers may be asking for trouble or I could get a decent coil setup for about same price….thoughts on “going from nice air shock to newer coil setup ?”

Stick with air! Spend a little bit more and get the air. Do it right!
