October 9, 2012 at 19:02 #113189GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. On Saturday both kids and adults got their hands dirty, completing the first official trail of the Three Sisters Project.
The project is a collaboration among the Mesa Land Trust, the Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association (COPMOBA) and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
COPMOBA designed the new trail. It is a two-third of a mile extension of the existing Kids Meal trail at Lunch Loop.
The new trail and future ones will be home to family-friendly biking and pedestrian trails.

That’s great news for 2 reasons:
1. The are has been preserved
2. The Lunch Loops are mostly gnar and folks need to drive to 18 Road or Loma to get any family friendly stuff.Of course, that parking lot’s gonna get even more crowded . . .
