Description: From the main parking lot, backup 100 yards on the road you came in on. The White Twister loop starts on the lower side of the road. Follow the trail and you will cross ridges and realize the trail name is appropriate. Just before the exit to the pay station, you will have some agressive climbs. From the top of the ridge you now go from the highest point on the trail to the lowest. Cross the bridge, go through the ferns, along root ridge and down to the old railroad bed. The last section travels an old railroad bed along Stonewall Creek. When the trail intersect with USFS Road #20, turn right and return to the parking lot.

This trail needs serious help . could be a great trail but has at least 6 large trees down and tree litter on trail , a fire ravaged the mountain side this trail is on and a few dangerous trees are standing near the trail that need to be cut down . fantastic scenery along the creek but again needs clean up badly . This trail of all the trails i have been on needs the most help

Rode the trail Friday 8/12/2011 and found it OK except for 5 downed trees that spoiled the flow on some of the better downhill sections. One section had 2 trees criss-crossed on a steep ledge making it very hard to get over. The rollers and log stunts look like they flow better going counter clockwise as they were on climbs going clockwise (starting at the TH sign). Some of the very tight switch-backs take away some good momentum from the downhills. the last climb coming out of the creek was fairly long and washed out making it tough so we pushed it mostly. Looks like it is a fun trail when cleaned up...

Rode this trail just yesterday. Too many downed trees to count, but that's due to recent storms in the area. Fortunately we met a gentleman who takes it upon hisself to perform trail maintenance as much as possible. I can kick myself for not getting his contact info. But I'm challenged to go back and do my part in helping to repair such a great trail.

Wet/Sketchy rating for the LARGE number of downed trees on this trail. As of 7/11/10, there needs to be a lot of trail maintenance done with a chainsaw. edit: For a more in-depth review of this trail, complete with images and nice formatting (which can't be done in this box), check the link: http://www.gregridestrails.com/2010/08/white-twister-clayton-tiger-georgia.html

This was a great 4 mile loop of singletrack. Not nearly as challenging as Stonewall Falls next door but not for beginners either. Some good climbs and some REALLY good descents. My only complaint is that there were about 6 trees that have recently fallen onto the trail from an apparent forest fire. Had to get off the bike and hike around/over/through them. Still a great trail even with the issues.

My first real mountain bike trail ride in the mountains. Very nice. Twisting. Some uphill climbing and some downhill wooshes. Just about the right length.
