Description: The trail is new and fairly unused. It still has worn grass in the trail. There is no real direction or trail markings as of yet, but that will change I\\\'m sure. The trail is not technical, 1 small 2x4 bridge, and 3 or so log crossings ( log of 3 to 4 inch dia. ). The climbing is easy as well. This is a short trail for a quick ride, or to cut the newbies teeth on. You could also ride here 2 to 3 laps after work to work out the da**tress.

TRAIL REVIEWS   review this trail

I rode this trail for the first time on Jan 7, 2011. Just never had the chance to make it out there sooner. It was a fun ride. I parked by the Ice Ring off Maple St. I recommend the Difficult sections just for some added fun. It's not really any more difficult than the rest of the trail. There are many switchbacks. Nice jumps with good downhill speed added for effect. The berm section is well worth it. Nice little climbs too. Be ready after you cross the gravel road for the first time because the area by the creek can be very muddy. Overall fun and worth the drive from Bellevue.

Mostly beginner trails with a few intermediate sections. The trails are one way and flowey with some fast areas for more experienced riders. Various loops up to 9 miles can be made. There is now a bermed section for some extra fun. Overall a very good trail system suitable for beginners and experts alike (ride faster), just don't expect any expert tech. features (it's a city park after all) Go do a few laps and have fun.

First off the description is outdated, tranquility is well used but never over crowded and it is well marked. This is probably the best trail in town to take your friend to to convince him/her that Mountain Biking is awesome. the trails are smooth and flow nice. the climbs are gentle. The few trails labeled "Difficult" are not really that difficult and even so those sections marked are easily avoided. This trail also has a lot of variation. Starts off as a easy peddle along a creek, through a sparsely treed meadow, then it winds into the dense and dark evergreen forest. The trail is not done yet!! Back though the meadow and through some more evergreen shrouded single track that dumps you out into a vast open field with a hill in the middle. One of the neatest features is at the very top of a relatively long but gradual climb is a little roller-coaster section that can make you feel like your in a race in the mountains of Colorado if only for about 15 to 20 seconds), Then it is down a fairly long (for Omaha) flowy downhill section, back up the second of the 2 longer climbs. the second down hill section keeps changing because construction is eating away at part of the trail. The trail then winds back along the creek in a easy fast flat section that really lets you crank the peddles, back about halfway up the big hill to final supper fast mini down hill with small man made mounds that if you are afraid of jumping (like me) allows you to get just enough air under your wheels to say you jumped. Then it's a bumpy run back along the creek (there is a small bridge) and back to the parking lot. NOTE: there is a new part that goes north along the creek and under the Fort Street bridge but i have did not ride this section yet.

Just rode Tranquility for the first time this afternoon, and it was really fun. Not very technical, but fast downhill sections are in abundance. Nothing too steep either, so I would say this a great ride for inexperienced riders. The setting changes from open prairie to dense pine forest to wooded creekside trails. The area near the creek was alot of fun as you meander thru the woods and negotiate several small rollercoaster style sections. I think that with about double the amount of man-made obstacles this would be the best ride in the metro area. As it is,the shallow climbs and numerous descents keep you in the saddle the entire ride. I was very impressed with Tranquility and will be returning.

This is a sparkling gem of a trail in Northwest Omaha. Hills on both the North and South sides provide fantastic views of Omaha. It's not unusual to see a line of lights on the trail at night here. Night riding has been increasing in popularity. New riders like the challenge of long gradual climbs and some technical features provide. Experienced riders like the easy access to get a great workout on this long loop trail. Tranquility is well suited to group rides due to a beginner friendly layout and plenty of trailhead parking. THOR volunteers have put in many hours of work to make this trail well maintained and fun to ride (http://trailshaveourrespect.org/). Currently the Tranquility trail is being expanded North of Fort Street adding more miles of fun along the Papio Creek. Look for this to be a great new section of trail to ride as it gets more ride time and established like the rest of the trail. Watch out for occasional city vehicle traffic around the gravel road crossings. Thanks to Omaha City officials for authorizing these trails!

This is a great trail for the beginning rider or advanced riders who want to get some miles in. There are a few small climbs, but overall pretty flat with some technical sections. The park is always in great shape due to the great crew that maintains it.

I've only been on this trail a couple times since getting back into MTB-ing in July of this year, but it's a nice trail to get back in the saddle, so to speak. Most of the features have already been mentioned so I won't reiterate them. One thing that would be nice is a map of the trail and an easier-to-find trailhead marker (if there is one). Also, I know there is (or used to be) a Geocache hidden in the area if you're into that. I might have to put one somewhere along the trail myself one day.

This trail has been improved gretaly since the first review. Its worn in and well-marked. The trail has been expanded to a little over 4 miles with two long climbs and several fast XC downhills. Lots of turning and quick up and downs along with some mild techincal features.
