Mountain Biking The Dome/ Knoya Peak

*****   Add a review
#10 of 64 mountain bike trails in Alaska
#2,677 in the world

Long steady climb with switching backs and sections of steep climbs, eventually hitting the "Y" where it intersects the multi-use hiking trail, this winds and turns up a moderate incline for a few miles then comes the longer punchy route, you will need to walk the bike up this section as you start to ascend the Dome. Once at the base of the dome you'll have a clear view of Anchorage in its entirety. You can choose to hike-a-bike up the dome and even follow the ridgeline up to Knoya peak which is a fair amount of bike pushing but the view and downhill dynamic gets better with every push.

Getting there
Start from the North Bivouc Trail head and follow it past the powerline trail intersection, past the poles indicating gov't land (recreation permit required) and over the creek bridge, the trail starts on the left ~ quarter of a mile past the bridge. No marking just a traveled trail to indicate.
