About This Trail
added by disfigured_figure Bunny Hop on October 11, 2004

http://www.icorrmtb.org The website does a good job at describing the trail and offers maps. There are plenty of log hops and switchbacks to make this a good place to ride. The roots in the pine section can be painfull on the backside, so be prepared. You can easily ride the entire system without being too worn out. Just pick a starting point and go,.

Review: Excellent xc trail system. It is nothing short of amazing what ICORR has managed to do with so few volunteers. Classic Midwest singletrack with improved flow over time / with reroutes and the addition of some technical trail features.

Similar Trail: Quad Cities trails by FORC, George Wyth, Squaw Creek, Beverly Park!

Review: Some of the best trails in the Midwest that I have ever been on by far. They are always very well maintained. The "fishbone" 1-way layout of the trails is so intuitive. Even the beginner trails are very fun and varied enough to keep all the rides interesting. The number of trails and number of miles available there makes it so that I do not have to do the same routes every time that I go there.
Very highly recommended and well worth the trip if you have to travel to get there.

Review: Mostly uni-directional trail system. Mostly beginner to intermediate trails, some advanced trails. If people get in over their head, everything is walkable. It looks like it's in the process of being re-routed to be more "IMBA'y." Lots of fall lines have been taken out and switchbacks put in. Mostly short, punchy climbs with roots and turns adding to the fun factor. One large, steep hill (Cyclocross hill); momentum is your friend on that one! Definitely a must ride in Iowa.

Review: Fun trail system, Lots of twisty one way single track. Central gravel road for easy bail out. Main "Green" trail which all the other "More Difficult" trails loop off of. Can make a 12 mile loop without repeating anything. Takes a lap or two to get the lay of the trail, then you can start to fly ( it's all one way). didn't find anything very technically difficult, however riding it fast will keep you on your toes, or into a tree, and the pine needles are slippery! They are in the process of building skills/ terrain section, so more fun to come. Bike/ body wash at the TH.

Review: Awesome trail system. I've been going for the last 3 years and haven't gotten tired of it yet. The trails are slightly modified every year to keep you coming back for more. Trail difficulties for every skill level. Great spot located on the lake along with camping grounds. Give it a try and you won't regret it!

Review: Awesome technical singletrack system where no one would expect it. These trails single-handedly fueled my biking fix for 7 years while liviing in Iowa. Hard to match even in CO or CA.

Review: Great trail. Great area. This is a place most wouldn't expect to find in Iowa. Sugarbottom has trails for all ability levels, with enough diversity to keep riders coming back.

Review: These trails are awesome. They are very well kept up. Fines are issued if anyone is on the trails when they are closed. There is a race held every August. The trails are near 12 miles long with different sections for beginners, intermediates, and experienced riders. Several technical sections with some really good climbs.

Review: This is a great trail system, well maintained, well sign posted. I've biked in CO and this ranks up there with some of the best trails ever. I've been riding out here since 1999, and I have yet to get bored!!! The trails are marked green/blue/black diamond and double black diamond. There is absolutely something for everyone out here, I've even taken my kids (ages 10 & 12) on some of the trails, and know the hard core riders love it as well. Well worth the look - check out http://www.icorrmtb.org for more info about the trails.

Review: This trail isn't given nearly a high enough ranking. I've ridden Colorado and Utah and yet I've rarely seen any trails as well constructed and well kept as this trail near Iowa City. You get some great views of the lake, you get plenty of challenges, some logs hops, some rocky decents, some rooty climbs, and one really sweet gravity cavity. Lots and lots of fun to be had here.

Review: This is a great park that is extremely well maintained. They have all levels of trails - some decent climbs, some quick and at times technical decents, and some trails provide plenty of log hopping. You'll be surprised by this place.

Review: This is a great singletrack park for Iowa!! A couple of times I forgot where I was. It is mostly dirt with quick uphills and fast decents. Any level of riders can enjoy this park and the trails are well marked for level of difficulty. Watch for deer on the trail and call the hotline to make sure it's open, the park is closed if it has rained. (319-626-1160)
