Description: There is are 2 main trails, one marked in yellow and one in blue. The blue is basically the yellow plus some harder side loops. My map also shows a third traill that is not really marked. To find it, look for a trail and some pink flagging to your left after about 10 minutes of riding. There is also a low stump with a rock on it, sitting at this point of the main trail. Follow this pink flagging and faint red blazes on trees to ride this third trail. There are also many other options here.

The riding is generally rooty, rocky moderately technical, good xc riding. Not a lot of vertical.

Rode this trail many times. The trailhead is located right behind local bike shop iRide. The trail begins with a moderate uphill climb. From here there are a couple of different routes you can take (color coded trail makers). This trail doubles as a place to snowshoe as well as hikers from the nearby Golden Eagle Resort. This trail is not crowded. Some is some great views of the Mansfield ski area. Bear's Trail has great flow and will eventually dump you out on Rt 108. If you take a right and ride about 1 mile you will be back at iRide.

Great trail for a quick ride that warms you up for some of the more technical trails in the area. While its not the most deifficult trail in the Stowe/Waterbury area, it does offer up a nice climb with plenty of well thought out switchbacks and a great decent. Definitly worth riding if you're in the area.

Rode this trail several years ago and had a blast. Back then the trail was somewhat unofficial, I guess bikes are more welcome these days...
