Description: A fun trail by itself however is mainly used as access too or in conjunction with others as loop routes etc. Running N-S across the face of the Mtn slope there is not a lot of climbing over its length but it does have some elevation gain from S to N as it climbs to the Helicopter Pad. From Conklin rd it’s a 4 mile, very gradual climb through the forest up to the intersection with Funner and then highway 46 a half mile later.
Across the highway it intersects with the top of C.O.D. and the Grand Slam 2 miles farther, all this way being a challenging route through the forest and scattered lava rock gardens. Two more miles and some climbing bring you to the Heli Pad and several choices back down or farther up the mountain if you choose.
