Review: Allowing for the logging and the new road, Sparrow Hill is a sensational ride. Lots of relatively smooth flowing single trails traversing the hills. With very few steep climbs, its a pleassure to explore the many trails with some speed. A must for every MTB enthusiast.

Similar Trail: The new Mont 24hr trail across the road from Sparrow Hill is similar, 13km loop and while you have to get over a few gates, it is superb smooth single trails most of the way.

Review: A great network of fast singletrack(s) consisting of multiple loops, rock gardens, berms, small jumps, log balances, allowing for many hours of excellent riding. Most of it is undulating sweeping single track that will suck up whatever you have to throw at it. The courses have something for everyone: very fast sections such as Bobsled and Heavy Cow, and some more technical rock gardens such as Sparrow Loop. It's a pleasure to ride. The makers have gone with the contours rather than against them, meaning you can power through with encountering any seriously arduous inclines. Located in a pine plantation the drainage is good and the track is mostly shaded, making it great all year round. You can't ride MTB in Canberra without checking out this course.

Review: If you're after endless XC trails that swoop up and down and undulating landscape swerving to and fro as they do so - Sparrow Hill is heaven! The trails are built in a mature pine forest and there must be at least 50km of them. There are no long or very steep climbs nor anything that could be considered downhill. However there a number of jumps and drop-offs (all with chicken runs) and a couple of rock gardens but technically any intermediate rider should be up to it. What Sparrow Hill is great for is fast flowing track that doesn't repeat or disappoint. They held the Mont 24h at Sparrow Hill in 2009 for good reason! This is not just my opinion, Chris Southwood, in Australian Mountain Bike June 09 issue said "It only takes a couple of minutes riding to remember why I was so excited about coming and racing at Sparrow Hill. The track absorbs me and straight away I'm packing an idiotic smile as flowing turn after turn threads through the pine trees ahead. It's exceptionally cool riding, just pure flow. Nothing technical to catch you out, but superb effortless carving turns that reward good cornering technique and let you ride for kilometres without even touching the brakes. The undulating terrain of Sparrow Hill means that serious climbs are non-existent, instead the trail sweeps back and forward and any climbs are eaten up in a few gradual switchbacks... its perfect riding, track builder, Paul Cole's... best creation yet." * Review edited 6/18/2009
