Description: Usually up the hill by the water tower, continuing on the logging trail. Then up to the old (radio tower?) footings at the top of the hill. Cruise down the far side & head up some more of the double track. Hang a right back onto the single track and either get lost swinging left (eventually working my way out) or hanging a right and getting less lost.

Easily one of my favorite places to ride when I am short on time and in the area. Quite unfortunate the landowner issues have caused most of it to remain closed. Very buff, fast singletrack with great flow. Something for ALMOST everyone. (those looking for "gnar" should probably stay clear)

Only the main Flo loop and the more freeride oriented Freefall are open. Everything else is closed due to landowner issues.

Any news from people up there abouts what's up with this place now? I heard that all of it is closed! Paperboy, Lo-Flo... sniff.

This network of trails is fast and fun. You can have a half hour ride or spend 2+ hours in here. The only downside is that it is very popular, so it can get crowded at times. **Update** Note that due to land-owner issues, all of the lower trails at Saxon Hill are CLOSED for riding. Parking is still allowed at Thompson lot, and FLO and FREEFALL are open. You must access Flo via the dirt road, then ATV trail. Om, MoFlo, LowerFlo, Paper Route, and MoJo (top of the hill) are not open for riding!

Rode here over Labor Day weekend with my cousin who had heard good things. I'm not sure if I've ever seen such well-maintained trails, and they were ridiculously fun to ride! Super smooth with great flow and cuts to them, though we only saw about 7 miles of Lo Flo, Mid Flo, and Paper Route. I'll gladly head back to see the rest!

Sweet trails all around. The first few singletracks closer to the entrance are not technical at all! A few nice way to warm up! I like the fact that it gets harder the further you go into it. A very well maintained trail by the FOTW, and I believed sponsored by Earl's Cyclery & Fitness. This place is definitely suited for rides of all experience. Oh yeah, this place is actually located in Essex, not Burlington for those who are curious.

Perhaps the Sweetest trail in Vermont, even giving Kingdom Trails in East Burke a run for their money. (They do have more trails) This has a rolling section with swooping well banked curves. I can be ridden slowly by a beginner or faster by more advanced riders the second section climbs steeply and descends sweetly. The is a third loop off the top of the second which has a steep climb and more technical descent. Something for everyone and all of it great!

I spent 2 days on this trail and very good if you are with your beginner girl friend, at least she is not bad at you at the end of the day. But a good day overall on this windy trail. No technical part to speak of. Better trails around for technical freaks but a good exercise. Do not enter the private road because the gate is closed at 5PM and no way out. Park on the side of the road before the gate. Enjoy.

Lots of good singletrack. The maze of trails can be very confusing. But if you take sometime to explore you can find some really good routes. Bring a map if you can!!

A couple of the Saxon Hill trails are very well maintained thanks to a local organization- Fellowship of the Wheel. They recently added a new trail on the right side of the access road off of Thompson Drive (This is off of Allen Martin Drive, another start to these trails). This is some twisty flowing single track that can be ridden fast. Mostly bidirectional. The end of the new trail is right across from the main trail. The other trails that aren't really marked off are crossed on this trail (after you've been riding it up for a while and you come out onto an access road). Sweet intermediate riding that all skill levels will enjoy. The other unmarked trails are more technical with more speedy downhills and climbs.

The trail is about a 1/4 mile down the dirt road. There is an entrance on the left up a slight incline, kinda of a pine covered trail. I rode that until I hit the main trail, rocky and rooty, followed it pass the water tower to the top. Once at the top I rode the Ridge Trail and other main trail. There was a few good short climbs and fun technical areas. There are loads of trails around the ridge. If I lived in VT still I'd be riding this trail often.
