This loop trail contains some quick ups and downs, steep (short) climbs and tight turns, with a big jump at the end. TRAIL REVIEWS   review this trail

The Rum Village trail provides a lot of variety in a small, 6 mile, package. It is a fun trail to ride a few laps on with some twisty climbs and fast downhill stretches. There is a nicely setup table top jump at the end of the intermediate trail. While the trail has a beginner, intermediate and advanced section, the most difficult sections of the advanced trail are marked with a diamond on the trail sign. In previous reviews people mentioned getting lost on the trail. New trail posts have been put up that should make it much easier to follow. The roller coaster was also recently taken down and replaced by a steeply banked natural turn.

The front section was fun single track for about 3 miles. Poorly marked in some areas. The second half the "Intermediate" section was marked even worse. The trail head for this section is not marked and you have to back track to locate it. It looked as if it was marked at some point in time. This trail is suppose to be a loop, however it was more like a maze. Once I got to Russ's Rollercoaster I couldn't find my way out. I took 3 trails out and they all brought me back to the same place. I'm not the only one who had trouble with trail markiings that day. 2 other people I came across had the same problem. If the trails were marked better and these little "network" trails eliminated the trail system would be a lot of fun. Until then it's frustrating. With all that being said there are some hairy areas that will give you pucker factor. Russ's Rollercoaster is an elevated bridge at that is 8-9ft off the ground if not higher. There is a ski jump platform also but it's not on the trail itself. I can't recall what this area is called. I'm rating this trail low because it is a nightmare to find your way out of the 2nd half. Couple really good obstacles.
