Description: Rocky singltrack that follows Rock Creek drainage. It is remote, and can be dangerous in some sections; don't ride alone. Trail can be wet in early summer. Rocks, and a few talus slopes and fallen trees. Those not in great shape may wisely choose to shuttle or ride road up to upper trailhead and ride the trail downhill. Very remote and not used or maintained much, but very scenic.

This is an EXCEPTIONAL ride. Park the car at the bottom and ride up the FS roads to the top. Then reward yourself with almost 12 miles of downhill with great scenery, technical challenges, and huge exposure. I have ridden this on a holiday weekend with perfect weather and not seen another soul. Moral: don't fall down the big exposure as it'll be quite some time before someone comes along to spot your carcass. This one lies high on the adventure scale.

Spectacular!!! This trail is rocky and rooty singletrack, with many, many talus slopes to maneuver. They can get old after a while, but... The scenery in Rock Creek Canyon is simply amazing. It is highly recommended that you ride the forst roads up (FR111 to FR101) to the upper trailhead or shuttle to the top. Although Rock Creek trail is a 12-mile decent, the rocks, roots, and riding on the edge keep you from flying through this trail. Bring a camera. I rode FR 129 to FR111 to FR101 and then decended the trail - almost 28 miles total. Epic if you climb to the top without gasoline! If you're in the Medicine Bow National Forest, do not miss this trail!!
