Mountain Biking Pack Track and Sack

***   Add a review
#146 of 387 mountain bike trails in New Zealand
#8,258 in the world

This is how Pack Track and Sack is described in the Queenstown Mountain Bike Club's guide... "Starts tight and technical then opens up into flowing singletrack down an historic stock route which joins into Skippers Pack Track."

It's a down slope trail with swinging switchbacks - one that leaves you smiling but it's very short - just 1.5 kilometres. It links the amazing Rude Rock trail to the less inspiring Skippers Pack Track. You would only ride it if you had a shuttle waiting on Skippers Road or if you were going to carry on to Skippers, the ghost town that's 15 km up a gravel road above the Shotover River.

Getting there
The Pack Track and Sack trail is a link track that joins the Rude Rock trail and the Skippers Pack Track. As you ride down Rude Rock watch for the fork to the right about two thirds of the way down. There is a sign.
