Trail Description
About this trail
Very fast and fun single track maintained by Ocala Mountain Bike Association. It has a main yellow loop with good flow and blue options throughout. This is an intermediate trail due to it's speed and some tight spaces. It is very shaded and there are some amazing trees throughout. The Red section is steep with some fast switchbacks and sudden drops. Lots of fun with a little of something for most. If you go to the Lincoln community park and go to the dog park the trail entrance is on the far end.

Review: Definitely a fast paced trail with lots of up and down. Seems like a rainfall or two would pack down the sugar sand and provide a couple days of better riding. Would give 4 stars but some of the harder trails aren't too trustworthy with the soft sand. Might need some shellrock to pack it down better.

Review: Omba just added a new technical section at the entrance. All wood with some bridges, burms, and a tabletop.

Review: Some fun trails with a bit of elevation and some fast sections. The Yellow/Blue trails were pretty flowy and not too hard, with a couple of decent climbs for Florida. Some of the berms could use some Oberma-care, as they are sandy in spots, which sketch out at speed. Some are reinforced with wood behind them or clay-the whole system could use this treatment, so you don't go flying around a corner expecting a solid berm and then hit a sugar sand patch, skiing into a tree. The red trail was more difficult and technical with some man-made "rock" gardens on climbs and downs, but was really more annoying than fun. Also, it seemed like it was made out of a big trash pile from an old road job or something, which was kind of off-putting. I prefer to mountain bike in the woods and natural terrain. Some spots of this were wet and muddy, making the climbs pretty tough. It could use some better routing or trail building to make it great. Overall I liked the system, and I think it is the best closest trail to Orlando. I would definitely come back, but I wish it was a bit longer and had a little more consistent trail surface throughout. I would rate higher if that was fixed up a bit.

Similar Trail: North Creek at Alafia? Not much in central FL has similar elevation.

Review: This is a challenging trail but awesome adrenaline. Good elevation, makes for a great cardio work out and you will feel the burn. The ramps and bridges can be difficult because of the washout but overall great local trail

Review: Great trail! Some cool wooden features and good elevation change for FL. When Helter Skelter dries out it is an awesome challenging additional section. Watch out for land mines. Someone is crapping on the trail, hopefully it's a dog. There is a giant dog park next to the trail...One would think that would be the best place for a dog?

Review: Finally got to ride Helter Skelter, the red "Advanced" trail yesterday. The last time I was at this trail system the enterence was overgrown and looked like there was no trail at all. I was pleasantly surprised yesterday as I finished riding the main loop I looked down past the sign for Helter Skelter and I could see a good way in. So I rode in to check it out. The beginning is a bit grassy and some sugar sand but it changes fast! Rock gardens, elevation changes, challenging climbs.. I had a blast! This trail is going to be great with some more riding in, but it's a lot of fun as is. Great work buy the trail cutters on this one. I can't wait to go back and ride this trail again fresh.
