Getting there
There are two starting points to the Mendota trail: The town of Mendota, and the Cedar Avenue bridge.

In Mendota, head north from the main street (Highway 13, or First Street), and go north to "D" street. Follow it to the end. Enter Fort Snelling Park under an old railroad trestle. Head to your left. A good place to park is a small parking lot just up the hill, on the north side of First street, and just south of St. Peter's church.

To get to the other trailhead, use Silver Bell to exit Highway 13 in Eagan. Continue to Nichols road and take it until met meets the Cedar Avenue (MN-77) bridge.
