Description
***Flagstaff is one of them unique areas that is covered with so many trails it is difficult to write a trail report for a specific route because there are so many variations & options. Best advise is to stop downtown and pick up a trail map at one of the local bike shops and just go ride. You could ride here every day for a month and not cover them all.***

Buffalo Park is a small field with a loop trail and one going straight through it. Head north on this trail and follow it through a gate at the far end, the trail gets a bit rocky here as it descends down a hill. At the bottom of this hill turn left at a Y for the easy Oldham trail up the aprox 500 ft elev gain for this tr, this is a relatively smooth trail with gradual grade. Turn right for Lower Oldham tr and a steeper and definitely more technical climb for almost three miles to the top of the loop, your choice of technical on the way up or the way down. Either way you will end up crossing FS road 557 and using the Rocky Ridge tr for about .8 miles to connect the tops of the Easy and Lower Oldham trails, ride back down either route to the original Y near Buffalo Park.

Review: GREAT technical features that must be ridden. If you like techincal play, then don't miss this trail if you're in Flagstaff

Review: Flagstaff sits right at 7000ft, most of the trails start here and of course go up. If you live or spend most of your time lower or at sea level like myself, try to give yourself a day of just hanging out to get acclimated before taking on any big climbs or you’ll be sucking wind pretty hard like I did. Even with a good map there are still more trails on the ground than are on the map, just stay on the main trails that are all pretty well signed and pay attention to the surrounding terrain and direction of travel.
