Description: From 505/506, I'd go CCW. The trail is all singletrack and is open to horses and bikes. The northern end, where you are parking, is 95% bike use and the southern end (where the horse trailers park) is 95% horse use. Several configurations to ride as out/back, lollipop loop, or a big loop. Has about 10 miles of 4-5 year old trail constructed by professionals. This is maybe the sweetest stuff, but the old school sections are alot of fun to. More climbing than most of the trails south of here. All in all, a really good ride.

Parked at Fell Hunt Camp, $3 day use fee and rode the lower loop for about a 15.75 mile ride. Met a couple of equestrians gearing up who were frendly and helpful with trail advise. Planned to ride to Parsons Lake, but the trail from the metal bridge was overgrown, so opted to take Forest Road 530 and Cedar Springs Rd (H to J) to continue the trail back to the trail head. Even with the heat and the previous night's rain, the trail was a pleasant ride. Maps, water, toilets and camping are available at Fell Camp.

Started at Fell. We rode the entire trail and some of it twice. The old school part down 9 Minute Trail is delicious. Up Little Moab, 518 to 515 has some deep gravel at the top, but then is ok. Once at the lake, it is thick corridor and full of downfall to the metal bridge. Once you cross the metal bridge, the trail is totally maintained and high quality. All the new school flow style trail here is great. Horses ride on it, and very few gapers ride here to dumb down the trail. The horses keep this trail edgy, I think. From G to F is another section of old school horse trail that has some challenging pitches in it. And from F to E is a 4 mile, mostly climb, that hardly ever gets steep, but never lets up. It ends with a nice techy section with some personality. E to D to C has some nice DH runs and creek crossings. The climb from C to the intersection is sweet. It is hard to say what is the "best out there". The locals love the flow trail that goes from C to G and from G to metal bridge. But I think what makes them not get tired of just the flow trail is the perfect mix of old school trail as well. When this trail is right, it is the best ride on the Long Cane District, and maybe in the state of South Carolina.

This system of trails is a great ride for most levels of riders. The new/ beginner may find it a bit long, but the overall flow of the trail will appeal to many!!! There are a couple more strenous areas with lengthly uphill climbs. The trail also covers many, many different forest and folage types...the changing scenery is nice to entertain the eyes. Use caution on the portion of trail closer to Parsons....THIS PORTION IS NOT MAINTAINED AND IS OVERGROWN! If you chose to park at the Fell Campground (water/ toilet/ parking/ picnic pavillions available) there is a day use fee...and the camp stewart is pretty quick to remind you! The Fell Camp Area is owned and maintained by the US Forest Service. Overall, a great day ride. Great maps available with mileage markers. Good signage.

Lots of variety. Some old school style singletrack, and some newer flow-style trail as well. A few short/steep climbs and descents, but it's mostly long gradual climbs followed by long gradual downhill. A few creek crossings, and the locals leave plenty of logs on the trail to hop. Nothing too technical. The trail is popular with equestrians as well, so be polite and yield to horses. When I rode there I encountered ultra-runners, equestrians, and a Boy Scout troop out on a hike. There seems to be a good relationship between all the various user groups - keep it that way!

This a fun trail, and has some fast flowing sections. It was quite hot when I did it, and there is not much water on the trail, so maybe not the best trail to bring dogs on, but other than that a great ride. Nothing too technical, but the distance and heat made it a bit challenging.

Similar Trail: It is like a very long, and better version of the trails at sesquicentennial in Columbia, SC
