Trail is fast flowing singletrack when dry. Slippery clay based when wet. Nothing too technical but

Review: I am local and last year my wife and I road this trail 91 times so we have a good idea of what is there. We have also done 24 other trails in Ontario - all the best rated ones. We feel blessed that this one is in our backyard (within the city limits) as it really is the best mountain bike trail in the province - although we have enjoyed many others (Kanata, Albion Hills, Hardwood Hills, Buckwallow, Fanshawe, Puschlinch, Guelph Lake, Kelso, Halton Hills, Woodstock, etc).
Every year some of the trails are changed (ie. upgraded). The trails markings and ratings are good and the trails are in excellent condition - courtesy of the Waterloo cycling club. There is something for everyone - cruisers, climbs, swithbacks, bridges, logs, rock gardens and kamikazee (the best 2 minutes of biking anywhere).
My favourite, however, is Frankenstein - 2.75 km of ups and downs, switchbacks, bridges and fun. A little tougher version of Frankenstein would be Adam's Run. There are two sides to this - one on each side of the Hydro Cut (hence the name). The side with Adam's Run and Kamikazee is the most difficult. There are 24 kms of runs - I measured them. You cannot go wrong biking here.
As one of the reviews tried to compare this to North Shore biking I can only say that is a stupid comparison full of west coast snobbery.
This is central snobbery I am promoting here and the Hydro Cut is among the best trails in the world.
Singletracks ranks it as #71 in the world and #1 in Ontario. The highest ranked BC trail is #179.
You will enjoy this ride.

Review: There has been alot of work done this fall increasing overall trail length, and adding many new trail features. The trails are very well maintained, and there is something for every rider.

Review: Everyone has said it all already. I've been here once and plan on coming back ASAP as I only had time to see half the trails. Apparently, I missed the better half. Didn't find anything super difficult but I did miss out on Kamikaze.

Review: Amazing ride...1st time out, hit the extreme difficult trails, had a total blast, a few wipe outs and I'll be back on a regular basis. Great Twists...crazy climbs and some wicked jumps. Had my adrenaline pumping like crazy...take lots of water and bug spray.

Review: Three trips there to find the complete loop, so there is enough exploring that can be achieved. Head is on a swivel finding lines, flowing downhills after peaks, worth every second.

Review: Phenomenal trail system...the fact that the trailhead i located in the middle of a subdivision and behind a Walmart is amazing. First time on the trail, I didn't know what to expect, and it kicked my butt. Great rolling singletrack, lung-tearing climbs, and some twists and turns along the way. Can't wait for my second ride next week. Driving 5 hours for it!

Review: Basically an out and back with 3 main loops, small sections within the loops are all named and are individually rated using IMBA approved ratings. Terrain is hardpack with some soft spots.. Fast and flowy sections mixed with tight and twisty spots. I like the switchbacks that line the trail throughout. A fast rolling tire like Smallblockeights or Mutano's would be a good choice.

Similar Trail: It's a cross between Kelso and Albion hills with a bit of Don Valley.

Review: a pedal bashing and breath taking good ride. its a tough call between kamikaze and stinky girl for favorite run. ended up having to hop a fence to find my way out of there though. seemed to be able to find enough small drops, rocks and downhill sections to keep things interesting.

Review: One of my favorite trails. Some decent climbs and decents, well maintained and dries quickly after a rainfall. Trail is fast and flowy.

Review: I've used these trails for about 10 years and they have progressed to a well thought out and marked trail network. very well maintained, this is a great XC trail, one of the best in this province. if you want pure downhill move to BC and stop rating trails in Ontario. people come from all over southern ontario to ride here for a reason, try it for yourself (bring water and bug spray). the pine's section (highland rd side) stays dry even after a rain storm.

Review: The Hydrocut, put simply, is AWESOME! Great singletrack that twists and turns and climbs and decends. Lots of up and down riding with plenty of technical sections in the mix. Makes for a 24km ride when riding all the sections, usually good for over 2 hours. A1 place, one of my favorites!

Review: Not a bad trail for xc lots of switchbacks, some roots and a few climbs. There is only a couple of jumps at all, any north shore stuff or decent jumps have all been taken out. Every time that I go back there it gets a little bit s***tier, they have even taken out natural jumps and rollers, tends to favor the spandex, clipped in weight weinies. Not recommended for freeriders.
