Description: Highbridge confounds expectations. With everything from smooth cruisers to wickedly technical "east coast gnar." The trails provide a small entertaining subsample of the regions trails, all within the confines of the densest metropolitan area in North America- New York City! In addition to the XC trails, Highbridge also features a freeride trail, designed and built in conjunction with pro rider Jim Dellavalle and the Brooklyn Bike Riders and a dirt jump park, designed and built by IMBA Trailsolutions with current and former pro riders Judd Devall, Jeff Lenosky and Kyle Ebbett. While the XC trails are a bit short to ride as a destination, they're perfect for city residents and visitors looking for a local spin. Check out www.nycmtb.org.

yo yo yo home boy, let me tell you where it's at. This here trail is like New York City itself; bad ass, in your face and unrelenting. You best come correct - with mad skills, a heart of stone and a set of brass balls. The ground can smell your fear and it will eat you alive if your not on point. Only three miles of tread, my brothas and sistas, but it's like riding through a junkyard. Severe drops, impossible rock gardens, the tightest switchbacks, steep climbs, log rides and a few strange looking people hanging out in the brushes (just keep riding). At the top of the park is a dirt jump park built by IMBA but the real deal, belly of the beast is the "Rough Rider" trail - I don't see how anyone can clear it, it's like the 'hood that time forgot, unforgiving and brutal. I gave it a 3 rating because it was not fun, it was like a gang beat down. Beware, only for the toughest.
Similar Trail: Ringwood in NJ and Grafton in Troy - nothing else is as technical.
