From a saddle point intersection with Hospital to Mt Vic track, this track drops down a hill alongside a graffiti-covered corrugated fence. The top half of the track is wide and smooth, while the bottom half is narrow and somewhat more tricky.
Near the bottom of the track, there is a gate through the fence, leading to the Gifford Observatory. From there, the rest of the way down to Newtown to Mt Vic track involves a substantial set of wooden steps.
