Description: Just a nice Sunday afternoon ride...just continuous perfectly smooth single track stretching for miles. A few spots of technicality, but nothin' serious. I took the loop clockwise, but ran across many others going the opposite direction. All very friendly and curteouos. The parking at the starting point was very crowded...I got the last spot at around noon. However, there was ample parking at the other end of the trail where it crosses Foresthill Rd the second time (near pic 5). No serious climbs, but it does add up in the end. Thanks to FATRAC for creating this great mtb trail.

Good ride, lots of up followed by fun swoopy downhill. Not super tech, but it keeps you awake. Watch for poison oak

Ride - 4/25/11 - Rain in the morning made the counter-clockwise loop more difficult. NOT A BEGINNER TRAIL. First time on the bike in 2011 and was quickly reminded that bike shape is different than being in shape. I would suggest that beginners only ride the Clementine side of the loop (it's more of a hammer). When the whole loop is wet or weathered from winter it becomes more of an intermediate trail.

I love the trail but brought some new riders and they struggled. Not a beginner trail. I took joslinmanman, below and he walked quite a bit. Riding shape and mental shape is important cause it is a long trail, 10plus miles.

Fun fast rolling trail. Mellow climbs. Did the trail in both directions and prefer to do it clockwise. This allows for slower, mellower climbs with nice downhill sections. Best one near the end of the trail. Very muddy last week, nice and tacky this week with minimal mud. Watch for horses.

This was my first MTB trail ride. There are a few steep climbs, but the fun (not very technical) downhill makes it worth while. The changes of scenery are very pretty too.

1st time on the trail - I'd give it high marks for the challenging terrain. It is NOT for beginners, unless you wanna just do partial. Also, look out for rude, "this is MY trail" riders -- some butt-cavern insulted us for not pulling over - he didn't even bother to let us know he was coming up fast! A little courtesy, please.

I’ve ridden this trail numerous times & would not recommend it to a true beginner. You need to be something other than table shape. You need to be aware of other riders coming from the opposite direction and if your allergic to poison oak….beware.

If fast rolling singletrack and nice scenery is your thing, then this trail is for you.Not real technical so it's a good place to take beginners. The climbing is moderate.

FATRAC is doing some rebuilding, please check their web sit and give them some Props!

An easy ride on technical, moderate on cardio. Started from the foresthill rd entry point and looped back. Take it on a day with moderate weather or start early as it can get hot on a few of the exposed hills. Nice fast, rolling, sometimes winding downhills after some moderate climbs. The trail is somewhat marked but there appears to be a few downed signs so pay attention. When crossing foresthill the first time, note the connecting trail is only slightly visible from the drainage on the opposite side of the two-lane. One 60 oz camel and a bar were good for the 11+ mile loop.

I love the foothills. FATRAC is great, make more! This trail is still some great riding, beginners can do it, experts can do it faster. If you think you're hardcore ride a single speed 24" out there.

Great fun . It looks like it might be hot in the summer months, parts are out in the open but lots of pretty trail in the trees . The only complaint was one road crossing that wasn't marked . We had to wait for someone to come along and tell us where the trail was on the other side of a busy road .

THis trail holds sentimental value for me. First serious ride and it took greater than an hour and a half the first go. After a year of serious mtb training I have cut that time in half. But if you are looking for a terrific, unsurpassed 11.5 mile quick ride with lots of diversity and incredible scenery this is the ticket.

This is one of my favorite trails nearby. I've only gone counterclockwise but i was told it's more fun to go clockwise and you get more climbing in. i have yet to try it that way. I can easily get this ride in under an hour, sometimes i like to include the new connector trail (which connects forresthill divide to clementine loop) to make it a longer ride. Forresthill is a "fun" trail that's got tons of variation.

Fun trail, but lots of people on weekends watch out for people climbing the opposite direction. Good roller coaster ride that is mainly single track.

This loop can be pretty fun if you ride it fast. It seems most people ride it counterclockwise. I 've ridden both and that seems to be the most fun way to do it.

Riding this trail clockwise, the second half is a blast, with a fun S-turn downhill. In the winter, it can be real cold with sleet and snow on bad days.

Good for a Quiky 1500 feet a lap. Good Single Speed trail

Fun trail built by FATRAC, I believe. Lot of horses and hikers also, so pay attention on the downhills.

reviewed by Big_B on June 18, 2004

Agreed, no serious climbs, but it adds up. A guidebook says this ride goes up and down the same 200 feet too many times to count. Sounds about right. Nice shade on most of it too.
