Review: Kind of fun and very brief. I guess it's a good way to get from one side of campus to the other.

Review: Now a "Pedestrian only trail". OWASA access road which is asphalt and connects to the Battle Park trail is available for biking but is by no means a mountain biking trail* Review edited 1/13/2009

Review: Just rode this trail - actually called the Battle Branch Trail - for the first time. Excellent markings, great challenge up and down hill. Takes you from Community Center to Boudary Street (or vice versa). You will want good shocks and gears - lots of rocks, roots, and steps/bridges.

Review: great for practice. say if you wanted to practice stream crossing or riding on tons of rocks. parts of this can get really really muddy, like halfway up the shin deep. it looks like theyre working on new sections, but there are signsclaiming that the construction is for runners and walkers. .... it also s***s that it is not really a loop system. then it connects to "sugar creek road" which is a gravel road (fun to ride) but it has wood beam stairs that will ruin your tires. not for a really good workout, stay left where you can turn right for sugar creek road, and pop out "glen hill rd". ride this hill up and circle backto ride it again....i think it's the toughest hill in town (on pavement).

Review: Not to crowded with hikers or bikers, a great in-town treasure. Several short trails around a creek, can be combined to give a good workout. More hiking than biking, some water crossings, bridges, rocks, lots of exposed roots, change in ellevation

Review: These trails are part of Chapel Hill's Greenway project. They actually begin at the Chapel Hill Rec. Center at the bottom of airport road across the street from sunrise biscuits. Not really made for mountain biking, very short, lots of runners and dogs. Single track is fun if dry for a quick - 15 minute - downhill ride from campus to the rec. center.

Review: You can reach the trail from Estes Community Park by going around the pool area and heading over the wooden bridge onto a street and taking another bridge which will say battlecreek trail. From there you can go up the trail, which is fun. Or go down the trail. Down the trail you start from the Forrest Theatre, either to the right near the picnic tables or on the theatre's left, up Boundary road and taking the first right before Franklin street. You'll see the trail head. This leads straight down to the trail and the creek.

Review: Very technical. Watch out for joggers and people walking. Not as much fun as the Seawell Elementary trails, but worth a try. You can get lost down there, but stick to the creek and you'll be fine. The highlight of this trail is the top at the forest theater, where you can sit and enjoy a nice afternoon.

Review: This trail offers the beginner/intermediate a few opportunities to rack themselves, and plenty of opportunities to run over joggers, leashed and unleashed dogs, their owners, and their owner's children. This is a fun trail, but you really have to temper your speed so as not to hurt other trail users. The bridges and stairs make for some nice obstacles that are mostly do-able by intermediate riders. There is one dicey section where some off-camber roots lead to a gully. It's not that hard to manuever, but if you lose your concentration there you are toast. Please look out for joggers! (I run this trail more than I bike it.)

Similar Trail: Lake Crabtree is similar but easier. Chapel Hill trails are similar but more difficult (much more difficult, depending upon the route you take.)
