Description
This is a great trail for the whole family. I saw fathers and grandfathers out with their children and grandkids showing them the ropes of Mountain Biking. This trail was completed this summer (2011) and doesn't have a lot of technical features but it rolls quickly and in ome sections your bike can get away from you if you carry too much speed around the corners. Just be careful as there were children out on BMX bikes and geared 20" mountain bikes as well.

I use the beginner loop as a warmup (about 2 1/2 miles), and then ride on to the intermediate loop which eventually connects to the advanced loop. To hit every bit of singletrack in a day you will need to re-ride a few sections but it is all very fun.

Review: I am amazed at the number of great trails in the twin cities. I rode at Murphy-Hanrehan in the early afternoon and drove to Elm Creek at the suggestion of three different groups of riders. They all recommended Elm Creek since I had already ridden Lebanon Hills. It did not disappoint. The beginner loop is separate from the intermediate and advanced (you must ride intermediate to get to advanced.) The beginner loop has a decent amount of elevation change. It's mostly smooth and you go up the hill, around, and back down. A great green trail for anyone starting out. The intermediate and advanced trails are where it really shines. The intermediate is more fast and flowy than the advanced but also has fewer technical sections. The technical sections are well marked. Some are just small loops off the main trail, but oh so worth it. The tech sections include elevated skinnies, elevated log skinnies (with banked turns!), log piles, rock drops, pump-able rollers, ladder bridges, and a small "half-pipe-ish" gully. Another must-ride trail in the twin cities. Oh, and hikers have to yield to bikers!

Review: Easily my favorite trail around the twin cities. Amazing flow and well thought out elevation changes. Majority of the trail system is FAST and FUN. It's as easy or difficult as you want to make it. I thoroughly enjoy all the new features that have been added this year in the advanced section including numerous log bridges. With being so new and having so much land to play with, I expect to see it get continually bigger and better. MORC does a great job with grooming and keeping trail status updates current on their website.

Similar Trail: Theodore Wirth... closer to the cities and still a good trail, but not nearly as fun. Wirth is more of an after work ride for me.

Review: This is the best trail I have come across thus far. Trails are very well marked and the riders cannot get lost. Many exits points if you get fatigued but who wants to stop? Much tought was put into the design and track flows nicely.

Review: Wow, what a great flowy trail. Nothing too difficult so you can ride with whole family or just fly over a course by yourself. A few skinnies and jumps makes ride more interesting. It's a new trail and there's plenty of room for development. Good afterwork ride.

Review: This is a newer trail to the metro area. I love this one and make sure to hit it when I make my trips up to the cities. If you want to have a longer day of riding, I usually start with Lebanon and then will hit up Elm Creek. This trail system is just all around fun... it's like a mini version of Cuyuna if you ask me. Its got a great beginner section for kids, all the way up to some more demanding stuff towards the back.

Review: Highly recommended for beginner to expert, this newer trail has excellent flow & bypasses aroind every obstacle. I have had pro level riders & 1st year riders easily handle the expert loops. Excellent in all aspects, wish it was 10 miles longer.....
