Description
Start up the dirt road about a mile or two and you will see the trailhead for Elkhorn loop a little bit after the climb levels off and then starts downhill. Then follow the markers that say Elkhorn loop. It will kick you back out onto eht street where you started your climb. It's a fun run but not very technical. Really good views.

Review: A reasonably mellow ride through the forest, and a good alternative to Boise Foothills trails. Mostly old logging roads, but there is some singletrack options (e.g., Cougar Trail) off of Elkhorn proper. Alpine is a good alternative, but is still singletrack on an old logging road. But, it is a pretty fun and fast option to the trailhead.

Review: This trail was around 6 or 7 miles of mainly old roads. There was very little trail. The trailhead is located 23 miles north of Idaho City on hwy 21.
